Unlike relative humidity, which depends on temperature, absolute humidity directly indicates the actual amount of water present regardless of temperature. The theoretical calculation involves two steps: first, the saturation vapor pressure is determined using the temperature-dependent Magnus formula. Then, the actual vapor pressure is calculated by multiplying the saturation vapor pressure by the relative humidity percentage. Finally, absolute humidity is derived from the ideal gas law, relating vapor pressure to mass concentration. This value is crucial in meteorology, HVAC system design, drying processes, and human comfort studies. The calculator uses standard atmospheric constants for accurate results within normal environmental conditions.
