Estimate the required air conditioner cooling capacity based on room size, insulation, and sun exposure.
Enter room dimensions and details, then click Calculate.
This calculator estimates the required cooling capacity for an air conditioner based on room dimensions, number of occupants, appliances, and sun exposure. The base calculation uses 100 W per square meter. Each person adds 150 W of heat, and appliances contribute about 80% of their rated power as heat. Sun exposure increases the load by a factor of 1.0 (low), 1.2 (medium), or 1.4 (high). The result is displayed in Watts, BTU/h (British Thermal Units per hour), and approximate horsepower (HP). This is a simplified estimation — for precise sizing, professional HVAC design should account for additional factors such as window size, insulation quality, and climate zone.
- Enter the Room Length, Width, and Height in meters.
- Enter the number of People typically in the room.
- Enter the total power of Appliances (computers, TVs, etc.) in watts.
- Select the Sun Exposure level (Low, Medium, or High).
- Click Calculate AC Power to get the recommended capacity.
- The result shows Watts, BTU/h, and approximate HP.
- Click Reset to restore default example values.
