Aerated Concrete Block Calculator – Estimate Quantity & Cost

Calculate the number of aerated concrete blocks needed for a wall, including mortar and waste.

Enter wall dimensions and block size, then click Calculate Blocks.

An aerated concrete block (gas block) is a lightweight, porous building material made from cement, lime, sand, and an aeration agent. It is widely used for wall construction due to its excellent thermal insulation, soundproofing, and ease of installation. The calculation of the number of blocks required involves dividing the net wall area (total wall area minus openings) by the effective area of one block including the mortar joint. Additional blocks should be added for waste (typically 5-10%) to account for cutting, damage, and breakage. This calculator also estimates the total block volume and mortar volume, helping with material procurement and cost estimation for construction projects.

  1. Enter the Wall Length and Wall Height in meters.
  2. Enter the Block Dimensions (length, height, thickness) in millimeters.
  3. Enter the Mortar Joint thickness in millimeters.
  4. Enter the total Openings Area (doors, windows) in m².
  5. Enter the Waste Factor (typically 5-10%).
  6. Optionally enter the Price per Block for cost estimation.
  7. Click Calculate Blocks to see the results.
  8. The result shows net blocks, total blocks with waste, volume, and estimated cost.
  9. Click Reset to restore default example values.
