Fuel Tank Remaining Calculator

About the Fuel Tank Remaining Calculator

This calculator helps you determine how much fuel is left in your tank based on the current fuel level, distance traveled, and fuel added. It also estimates the remaining range (distance you can still drive) if you provide the average consumption.

How it's calculated in theory:

  • Fuel in tank = Tank Capacity × (Fuel Level / 100)
  • Fuel consumed = (Average Consumption × Distance Traveled) / 100
  • Remaining fuel = Fuel in tank − Fuel consumed + Fuel added (capped at tank capacity)
  • Remaining range = (Remaining fuel / Average Consumption) × 100

This calculation is based on a simple fuel balance model. It assumes constant consumption and doesn't account for variables like driving conditions, traffic, or terrain. The result is an estimate that helps with trip planning and fuel management.

How to use the Fuel Tank Remaining Calculator

  1. Enter tank capacity – the total volume of your fuel tank in liters.
  2. Enter current fuel level – as a percentage (0-100%) shown on your fuel gauge.
  3. Enter average consumption – your vehicle’s fuel consumption in liters per 100 km (optional).
  4. Enter distance traveled – the kilometers driven since your last fill-up (optional).
  5. Enter fuel added – the amount of fuel you’ve added to the tank (optional).
  6. Click “Calculate” or press Enter to see the results.
  7. Use the “Clear” button to reset all fields.

Note: The calculator will show the remaining fuel in liters and as a percentage. If you provide consumption data, it will also estimate the remaining range.
